Concrete and Canvas mobilizes students, artists, volunteers and community organizations to local communities and public schools to create change through murals and mentors.

We function both as a matchmaker and direct service provider of arts and mentoring programs that cultivate the character and competencies necessary for students to thrive in today’s world.

Our core programs — Murals and Mentoring — provide quality arts education and committed adult mentors in predominantly low-income neighborhoods throughout San Diego. They enhance awareness campaigns and partnerships citywide.

Murals whether in a school or community provides visual arts programming that creates a platform for students to cultivate a shared vision and develop the life skills to bring that vision to life in collaboration with others.

Mentors provide purposeful adults for life and vocational mentoring that cultivate character and life skills, education options, and professional relationships and networks.
